This is a passion project born from my love for capturing moments in both photography and food that remind me of my childhood. Growing up in the late 90s and early 2000s, I found joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether it was the warmth of my grandma’s meatloaf or the comfort of a bowl of chili on a chilly fall day. I wanted to create a space where these feelings could come alive for others, a place where nostalgia meets flavor.
Here at Shutter & Smoke, I believe that both photography and cooking tell stories. A photograph can transport you back to a cherished memory, while a dish can evoke the same sentiments through taste. Each post will aim to spark fond memories and inspire you to create your own, whether you’re gathering around the table with loved ones or reminiscing over a beautiful image.
I plan to share recipes that are full of flavor, particularly those that highlight seasonal ingredients to create a full-circle experience.
